South Flagler Set to Soar: New 18-Story Tower Approved

Big changes are coming to South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. City commissioners just gave the green light to Flagler House, an 18-story condo tower set to rise at 3705 S. Flagler Drive—right across from Mar-a-Lago. The project will replace a 60-year-old, 3-story building but keep the same number of units: 39.

At 190 feet tall, the tower will be significantly taller than its neighbors—Portofino (135 ft) and Harbor Towers (101 ft). The developers scored a rezoning and height waiver to move the project forward, pitching the design as sleeker and more view-friendly, with added green space.

Not everyone’s thrilled. Nearby residents worry this sets the stage for even taller towers along South Flagler, changing the character of the Central Park and Southland Park neighborhoods. City officials are now looking into stricter height guidelines, possibly even hitting pause on new building approvals while they sort it out.

Either way, South Flagler is heating up—developers are circling, and the skyline is set to climb.
