West Palm Beach is getting a new way to move around town without grabbing the car keys.
West Palm Move will replace RideWPB with a mix of fixed-route electric shuttles and on-demand rides, giving residents and visitors a low-cost option for short trips around the city.
Here’s how it will work:
- Fixed-route rides will cost $1, with service targeted every 10 minutes.
- On-demand rides will cost $2, with wait times targeted at 15 minutes or less.
- The service will generally cover West Palm Beach east of I-95, with the first fixed route running from the Norton Museum of Art through downtown to Northwood Village.
- The fleet will be fully electric, including larger minibuses for fixed routes and smaller electric vehicles for on-demand trips.
- Initial operating hours are expected to run from 6 AM to 10 PM, with later hours planned in future years.
- The city is aiming for a late August or early September launch, with the final start date still to be announced.
The goal is simple: make it easier to get around West Palm Beach while reducing short car trips, traffic and parking demand.
