West Palm Beach Named America’s Sweatiest City

Turns out there’s one thing West Palm Beach is officially No. 1 at making people sweat.

A new study by Waterboy analyzing 30 years of climate data ranked West Palm Beach as the sweatiest city in America. Researchers looked at factors like temperature, humidity, dew point, and heat index to determine where people face the greatest hydration demands throughout the year. West Palm Beach topped the list with the highest overall score.

The report found that during the hottest months, a moderate one-hour workout in West Palm Beach can require more than 24 ounces of fluid replacement, which is nearly a bottle and a half of water.

Florida dominated the rankings overall, with seven of the top 10 cities located in the Sunshine State. The combination of high heat and relentless humidity continues to make South Florida one of the most challenging places in the country to stay cool.

The takeaway? If you’re sweating a little extra in West Palm Beach, it’s not just you—it’s science.
