Currie Park is getting a massive transformation and city leaders hope it becomes one of West Palm Beach’s signature waterfront destinations.
The $35 million renovation will completely reimagine the 13-acre park along North Flagler Drive with a mix of recreation, entertainment, and public gathering spaces designed to keep the park active throughout the day.
Plans include:
- A waterfront restaurant
- Amphitheater and event lawn
- Pickleball and tennis courts
- Docks and kayak launches
- Expanded playgrounds and green space
- New walking areas and community programming
City officials say the goal is to turn what has long been an underutilized space into a vibrant community hub capable of hosting everything from yoga classes and live music to family events and waterfront activities.
The project is also part of the broader evolution happening along the North Flagler corridor as new residential and mixed-use developments continue moving into the area.
To help support long-term operations and programming, the city is considering a management approach similar to The Park golf course, where the space remains publicly owned but operates with a private management structure.
Currie Park is currently expected to reopen in 2027.
