Good Samaritan Medical Center Plans $2–$3 Billion Waterfront Redevelopment in West Palm Beach

Good Samaritan Medical Center is planning one of the largest redevelopment projects in West Palm Beach history.

The over-100-year-old hospital on Flagler Drive has unveiled a sweeping $2 to $3 billion campus transformation across ~27 acres that would include a brand-new hospital, medical office tower, workforce housing, luxury condominiums, a hotel, and a mixed-use waterfront complex. The vision is to position Good Samaritan as a national destination for advanced medical care and wellness.

A New Hospital

The centerpiece is a new hospital that will double the height of the current building. The new ~10-story hospital will be built directly west of the current facility at 1309 N. Flagler Drive, and will continue to feature water views from patient rooms.

Plans call for expanding inpatient capacity from about 175 beds to approximately 225 beds, along with growth in cancer, cardiac, breast health, and pediatric services. Construction could begin by mid-2027 and take up to 30 months.

A Mixed-Use Medical Campus

Once the new hospital is complete, the current building would be demolished and replaced with a mixed-use complex featuring restaurants, retail, and a longevity center focused on preventative and wellness-based services (which would include genetic profiling, metabolic profiling, cardiac imaging and other therapies).

The proposal also includes:

  • Workforce rental housing for healthcare employees
  • A hotel for patients and visitors
  • Two 25-story luxury condominium towers with about 150 units each

The project, being developed with Easton Street Capital (formed by principals of the Frisbie Group), will require city approvals for the proposed high-rise buildings.

A Competitive Healthcare Landscape

The redevelopment comes as major out-of-state providers, including Cleveland Clinic and NYU Langone, expand into West Palm Beach.

If approved, the Good Samaritan overhaul would dramatically reshape the Flagler Drive corridor to blend healthcare, residential living, hospitality, and longevity services into a single waterfront medical hub.
