Palm Beach Extends Metered Parking on Worth Avenue & South County Road

In the Fall of 2024, the Town of Palm Beach added paid parking to Worth Avenue and South County Road. Now, the Palm Beach Town Council has voted 3-2 in favor of extending metered parking sessions on Worth Avenue and South County Road from two to three hours, addressing concerns from local business owners who claimed the previous two-hour limit was hurting their sales (as customers would have to move their car to leave, or re-park their car on a new block, after the two-hour window expired). The decision comes despite objections from town staff, who warned that there wasn’t enough data to justify the change. Business owners argued that longer parking sessions would encourage customers to spend more time shopping. Although the town’s data showed most sessions were under two hours, the council decided to act quickly in response to local feedback, hoping the change will stimulate business on the avenue.

In summary, you now have up to three hours of parking on Worth Avenue and South County Road for all of your adventures in Palm Beach!
