On January 10, 2025, West Palm Beach made history with the Cox Science Center and Aquarium as 468 dinosaur enthusiasts came together to break the Guinness World Record™ for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Dinosaurs. Smashing the previous record of 252 set in Los Angeles, this unforgettable event showcased the city’s vibrant community spirit and love for all things fun and unique.
The record-breaking attempt took place on The Great Lawn at 100 N. Clematis Street. Participants donned full-body dinosaur costumes—think inflatable suits or cozy onesies—and gathered as judges verified the impressive new total. The energy was contagious as families, friends, and dino fans roared their way into the record books.
This event wasn’t just about numbers; it was a celebration of community. Attendees supported the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, a beloved local institution, while enjoying perks like discounted admission to the Science Center’s “Dinosaur Safari: A Walkthrough Adventure,” running through April 2025.
The festivities didn’t end there. After the record was set, participants stayed to enjoy a dino-themed outdoor movie screening as part of the city’s Screen on the Green series. It was the perfect way to wrap up a historic evening under the stars.
West Palm Beach continues to shine as a city of innovation, excitement, and record-breaking fun. Stay tuned for more events that bring our community together in unforgettable ways!
