Palm Beach County Approves $300 Million Hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach

A second hotel is moving forward at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in downtown West Palm Beach.

Palm Beach County commissioners voted 6-1 on September 29, 2026, to approve a development agreement with Stephen Ross’s Related Ross for a $300 million-plus hotel at 900 S. Rosemary Avenue, near CityPlace.

The proposed 18-story Hilton Curio hotel would feature 400 rooms, multiple restaurants, rooftop dining, a pool and event spaces.

Why It Matters

The new hotel would join the existing 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach, potentially doubling the number of hotel rooms directly serving the convention center.

County officials say the additional rooms could help attract larger conventions and generate more tourism spending. The project is expected to support approximately 650 jobs, including 255 at the hotel.

The $26 Million Deal

Under the approved agreement, Palm Beach County will purchase the 1.8-acre property for $26 million and lease it back to Related Ross. The county expects approximately $1 billion in guaranteed rent over a lease that could extend to 99 years. The project has faced opposition from nearby Grandview Heights residents concerned about traffic, parking and the building’s height.

When Will It Open?

An official opening date has not been announced. County officials estimate construction could be completed within approximately three years, subject to financing, permits and construction.
