Palm Beach & West Palm Beach Bid Farewell to Two Local Favorites

Two longtime staples in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach, respectively, are closing, marking the end of an era for locals and visitors alike.

  • Sprinkles Ice Cream, serving scoops since 1985 on Royal Poinciana Way, will close permanently after May 26, 2025. Known for its 30+ flavors and celebrity visits, Sprinkles has been a community favorite for decades. The closure comes as major building repairs made staying open unattainable. While the current location is done, the owners are exploring a potential new spot (though no new spot has been secured yet).
  • BRK Republic, the unique dog-friendly bar and beer garden in downtown West Palm Beach, shut down on May 4, 2025. Rising costs and maintenance challenges led to the decision. BRK was loved for its laid-back vibe, off-leash dog park, and hosting the West Palm Beach Beer Festival. A new concept is in the works for the space — but this time, no pups.

Both spots were more than just businesses — they were gathering places, memory-makers, and neighborhood icons. They’ll be missed.
