Royal Poinciana Playhouse’s Big Comeback: Arts, Dining, and Luxury Retail on the Way

The Royal Poinciana Playhouse in Palm Beach is getting a major makeover, and it’s about to become one of the island’s hottest spots. Originally opened in 1958 and once a glamorous hub for Broadway shows, ballets, and even A-list celebrities, the Playhouse has been closed since 2004. After years of structural issues and a long search for the right operator, WS Development is bringing it back to life, after partnering with The Innovate, a non-profit arts center co-founded by Avie and Jill Glazer (yep, the family behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

So, what can you expect when it opens later this year? First, The Innovate will be the star—offering a state-of-the-art arts center where you can catch everything from plays to music performances, films, and even lectures. It’s going to be a cutting-edge space, complete with retractable seating and top-tier tech. Then, there’s Tutto Mare, a Mediterranean fine-dining restaurant that’ll be the island’s only waterfront dining spot. Picture a delicious meal with a beautiful view of the lagoon—yes, please!

On the retail side, the Playhouse will be home to luxury shops, including Cartier and Loewe, plus three to five more high-end retailers likely joining the mix. If you love shopping, dining, and the arts, the revamped Playhouse is going to be your new go-to. Construction’s been moving fast, and while things are slightly delayed, the end result will definitely be worth the wait. This is going to be a game-changer for Palm Beach—can’t wait to see it all come together!
