Capybara Triplets Born at Palm Beach Zoo

There’s a new reason to visit the Palm Beach Zoo. The zoo recently welcomed three baby capybaras, born to parents Iyari and Zeus.

After being introduced late last year, the pair quickly bonded—spending time swimming, sharing snacks, and settling into life together. Now, that connection has grown into a family of five, with the arrival of their three pups.

The babies are healthy and currently staying behind the scenes while they bond with their parents and are closely monitored by the zoo’s animal care team. Both Iyari and Zeus are adjusting well to their new roles.

Visitors may begin to spot the trio in the habitat in the coming weeks as they slowly start exploring and making appearances.

And if you’re planning a visit, it’s the perfect excuse to check out Rhythm in the Wild, the zoo’s popular event series featuring live music, food, and after-hours access to explore. It’s one of the best ways to experience the zoo in a totally different vibe.
