Although Café Med opened in May 2024, we did not try this place until the following October. For our inaugural visit, we risked it without a reservation and managed to grab two of the four bar seats—perfect for a cozy evening. While the Florence Spritz was nothing to write home about, we skipped the appetizers and quickly shifted our focus straight to the pasta. We ordered the orecchiette with sausage and broccolini (which was fantastic!) and the gnocchi, which literally melted in our mouths. Café Med does not use much flour in the gnocchi for a healthy touch, which helps add to the incredible texture and flavor. Thank goodness for the delicious starter bread, which helped mop our plates, so we did not have to lick them clean. We capped the meal with the cannoli dessert (which comes with two), which exceeded our expectations.
On our second visit to Café Med, we tried to mix it up with different menu options, including a pizza (labeled "pinsa" on the menu), agnolotti, and risotto al limone. In short, we recommend sticking with the pasta (and skipping the pizza). The pasta dishes are the real showstoppers.
Go straight to the pasta - gnocchi was unbelievable!
