West Palm Beach Breaks Ground on $36M Aquatic Center, YMCA & Olympic-Style Skate Park

A new wave of recreation and community is coming to West Palm Beach. Construction has officially begun on the $36 million aquatic center, YMCA, and Olympic-style skate park at Lake Lytal Park.

The project includes:
🏊‍♀️ A 70-meter competition pool with a 13-foot dive well — built for regional and national events.
💦 A 6,975 sq ft aquatic play zone with three slides and shade.
🛹 An Olympic-style skatepark, designed for state competitions and potential future Olympic trials.
💪 A YMCA community hub featuring a gym, wellness center, cycling area, recording studio, robotics lab, and youth programs.

Construction will take approximately 18 months, so the center will likely open its doors in 2027. The park’s current pool will remain open during construction.

Spanning 13 acres, the new complex will be one of Palm Beach County’s great sports and wellness spots that is both a training ground for high-level competitions and a gathering place for local families.
