The Howard Park Tennis Center unveiled its exciting renovations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in February 2025! After more than a year of renovations, Mayor Keith A. James, Parks and Recreation Director Leah Rockwell, Commissioner Christina Lambert, and the local community came together to celebrate the upgrades, made possible by the 2020 Parks Bond and the city’s general fund.
Here’s what’s new:
- Resurfaced clay courts with improved subsurface irrigation
- Two new hard courts for more playing options
- Four cushioned pickleball courts
- Shaded seating areas for comfort
- New lighting for evening play
- Updated clubhouse
These renovations make the center more functional and enjoyable for everyone, giving the community a great space to gather and stay active. Now is the perfect time to head out and enjoy the tennis or pickleball courts!
