Air Taxis Are Coming: Archer Aviation Plans West Palm Beach Vertiport & Rapid Regional Network

South Florida’s future of transportation is taking off — and West Palm Beach and Palm Beach are set to play a major role. Archer Aviation has announced plans for an electric air taxi network that will connect key destinations across the region with 10–20 minute flights, bypassing South Florida’s notorious traffic.

The network aims to link West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, along with major airports including Palm Beach International (PBI). For Palm Beach County commuters, that could mean cutting a 60–90 minute drive down to a quick hop in the sky.

West Palm Beach Gets Its Own Vertiport

Real estate developer Related Ross is partnering with Archer to build a vertiport inside its downtown West Palm Beachproject, positioning the city as a northern anchor of the network.

Existing helipads at Hard Rock Stadium and Apogee Club in Hobe Sound will also be upgraded for Archer’s electric aircraft — further strengthening access for Palm Beach travelers.

A New Layer of Mobility for the Region

Archer’s aircraft design, the Midnight, carries four passengers and promises rapid turnarounds, making high-frequency flights possible throughout the day. Developers supporting the project say this will add a “future-ready mobility layer” that connects Palm Beach County seamlessly to Miami-Dade and Broward.

The Bottom Line

With a vertiport planned in downtown West Palm Beach and fast regional routes on the horizon, Palm Beach is set to become a key hub in Florida’s first electric air taxi network. The future commute from West Palm Beach to Miami? Try 15 minutes — no traffic, no stress.
