West Palm Move Launches in West Palm Beach: Here’s How It Works

West Palm Beach’s new public transit service is officially launching.

West Palm Move will replace the former RideWPB pilot with a combination of fixed-route electric transit and on-demand rides, giving residents, workers and visitors another way to make short trips around the city without driving.

The rollout begins Tuesday, September 8, with on-demand service following September 15.

West Palm Move Fixed Route Starts September 8

The first fixed route will run north and south between the Norton Museum of Art and Northwood Village, with stops through downtown West Palm Beach.

Rides cost $1, with vehicles arriving every 8 to 10 minutes.

Hours are:

  • Monday-Friday: 6 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The fleet is fully electric.

On-Demand Rides Start September 15

West Palm Move’s on-demand service launches September 15 and will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Rides cost $2 and can be booked through the West Palm Move app, online or by calling 561-264-0458.

Riders who combine an on-demand trip with the fixed route will pay a total of $2, with the transfer included at no additional cost.

How Do You Pay for West Palm Move?

West Palm Move is cashless.

Fixed-route riders can tap a credit or debit card, phone or smartwatch when boarding. On-demand rides can be paid through the West Palm Move app using a credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Wheelchair-accessible on-demand vehicles are also available by phone request.

What Happened to RideWPB?

West Palm Move replaces RideWPB, the city’s temporary mobility pilot that ended May 31, 2026.

The new system is intended to be a permanent transit network as West Palm Beach looks for ways to reduce short car trips, congestion and parking demand as the city continues to grow.

West Palm Move is funded through a combination of developer contributions, mobility fees, the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency and parking fees.
