One of Palm Beach’s most iconic cultural institutions is getting its biggest upgrade in decades
The Society of the Four Arts has begun a $250 million renovation that will modernize key parts of its 10-acre campus while preserving its historic character.
The project centers on two major buildings: the O’Keeffe Gallery and the Rovensky Building. Plans include larger art galleries, a renovated auditorium with improved acoustics, expanded backstage facilities, a larger Children’s Library, new event and meeting spaces, and upgraded visitor amenities.
The O’Keeffe Building will grow from about 20,000 to nearly 31,000 square feet, allowing the Four Arts to host larger exhibitions and events. Historic architectural features, including original Mizner-era details, will also be restored.
Construction is expected to last about 18 months, with completion targeted for late 2027. During the renovation, many Four Arts programs will continue at temporary locations around Palm Beach.
For an organization that hosts hundreds of events and welcomes more than 100,000 visitors annually, the renovation is designed to ensure the Four Arts remains a cultural centerpiece for decades to come.
