Billionaire developer Stephen Ross is doubling down on West Palm Beach. His Florida-focused firm, Related Ross, is under contract to buy The Ben, the 208-room waterfront hotel in downtown WPB, from Wheelock Street Capital for about $190 million, according to reports.
The Ben, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, is downtown’s only full-service waterfront hotel, known for its rooftop with sweeping views of Palm Beach Island and the Atlantic.
The deal adds to Ross’s growing footprint in the city that also includes the Hilton WPB near the Palm Beach County Convention Center and a proposed third hotel, which would be 400-room Curio Collection convention hotel aimed at attracting bigger conferences and boosting tourism.
