4th on Flagler Is Back with Fireworks (For Now…)

West Palm Beach’s biggest Independence Day tradition, 4th on Flagler, is back on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm, along the downtown waterfront. The free event will feature live music on three stages, a kids’ zone, food vendors, a mechanical bull, and the popular 18-minute fireworks show over the Intracoastal.

This marks the 37th year of the event, with the theme “One Nation, Our Celebration.” Thousands are expected to enjoy the evening, whether catching live music, grabbing a bite to eat, or watching the fireworks light up the sky.

There has been some discussion from officials of the Town of Palm Beach (a sponsor of the event) about exploring alternatives to fireworks in the future, like drone or light shows, to help reduce noise and environmental impacts. They say the traditional display contributes to air and water pollution, startles wildlife, and leaves behind debris. Palm Beach leaders have even offered to chip in more money for the event if the city makes the switch in the future. Cities across Florida and the U.S. have started making that switch, but for now, fireworks remain part of the 4th on Flagler tradition.

No matter how you celebrate, 4th on Flagler is sure to bring plenty of energy to downtown West Palm Beach for a night of food, fun, and waterfront views.
