1909, the nonprofit coworking space, just opened the doors to its 9,000-square-foot headquarters in the historic Comeau Building on Clematis Street. This move more than doubles its old space, offering private offices, conference rooms, kitchens, a 24/7 gym, and even a game room.
With memberships now starting at $199/month (up from $75), they’re also offering scholarships for entrepreneurs. The space is already buzzing with 240 members and is fully booked.
Since 2018, 1909 has supported over 1,000 members, helping them grow businesses in an area where office rents are sky-high. Despite a failed bid to buy a city-owned building, 1909 found its perfect spot with a $1 million build-out, and it’s paying off. Entrepreneurs love the community feel, with 250+ jobs created and an economic impact of $66 million.
